According to the study published in the Journal of Ayurveda and Yoga, fifatrol was found to be effective in the treatment of upper respiratory tract infections (URTI). 203 URTI patients from various health centers across the country were enrolled in the study. During the treatment, the health parameters of the patients, who were given fifatrol twice a day, were checked on the first, fourth, and seventh days.

The findings of the study showed that the patient′s condition improved by 69.5% and 90.3% within the fourth and seventh days of treatment, respectively. Additionally, the researchers did not find any adverse impact of the formulations on the patients.

Fifatrol is not only effective in treating URTI but is also well accepted by the physicians of Ayurveda for the successful management of conditions like flu and associated symptoms like fever, nasal congestion, running nose, etc. It is a combination of five vital classical formulations like Tribhuvan Kirti Rasa, Mrtunjay Rasa, and Sanjivani Vati, with extracts from herbs like Guduchi, Daruharidra, Chirayata, Kutaki, Tulsi, Apamarga, and Karanja.

The study authors noted that fifatrol improved the immune systems ability to fight against viruses and other infections, eased the associated symptoms, and sped up the recovery process. They pointed out that the ayurvedic formulation was mentioned as a COVID-19 combat formulation in the Compendium of Indian Technologies for Combating COVID-19 compiled by the National Research Development Corporation.
